A Little Buggy
Woke up one mornin’ in a buggy drivin.’
Looked in the mirror and saw I was inside.
Didn’t know if I was goin’ or arrivin.’
Just knew that I was tired of the ride.
Got a rattle in Seattle,
cracked my axle in Tuscaloo.
Dropped my chassis in Talahassee,
blew my last fuse in Baton Rouge.
Now you’re standin’ there
with your sweet manly smile,
and askin’ if I’d like to travel awhile.
Though you may be
the cutest man alive,
this buggy ain’t goin’
for another test drive.
Started squeakin’ in Waukegan,
floorboards rusted out in Racine.
My generator’s south of Decataur,
my brakes screamed through Abiline.
Now you’re standin’ there
with your sweet manly smile,
and askin’ if I’d like to travel awhile.
Though you may be
the cutest man alive,
this buggy ain’t goin’
for another test drive.
Felt my brake go – down in Waco,
bolts came loose in Duluth.
threw a piston in Houston
and that’s the goldang truth.
Battery’s hanging on
by one little wire.
Had my engine fried in a great big fire.
Got a hundred and five
dings in my door,
and my foot’s nearly gone right
through the floor.
Now you’re standin’ there
with your sweet manly smile,
and askin’ if I’d like to travel awhile.
Though you may be
the cutest man alive,
this buggy ain’t goin’
for another test drive.
Oh no,
this buggy ain’t goin’
out for another test drive.
